The Author
Natalia Ruiz is an industrial designer exploring the transition from terrestrial to orbital design. With a background in ergonomics and a Master's in Collaborative Design from Aalto University, her work is grounded in human-centered principles.
She currently works as a Visual Designer, translating complex satellite technology into clear, compelling visuals. Her personal research, published through Zero Archives, focuses on reinventing everyday objects and rituals for life in microgravity.
Alongside research-driven analysis, her work draws inspiration from speculative fiction—films, books, and series that have long envisioned life in space. By examining these imagined futures, she explores how fiction informs reality, and where design must step in to turn possibility into practice.
