The Archives

Zero Archives examines the future of space through the lens of industrial design, where form must follow function. It asks how we can design for this new reality where human space exploration becomes the new normal, keeping in mind that not everyone will have the training of an astronaut.
A main focus is the translation of everyday objects and rituals from Earth to space.

Every article explores a single object or activity from our daily lives, shedding light on the complexity and human understanding required to design for an environment that wasn't meant for us to thrive in.

The idea isn't always to find an answer, but to explore the possibilities and have fun imagining what a normal, comfortable life in space would require from us as designers.

Hopefully, by the end of each article, you're left with more questions than you started with—your creativity and own perspective ignited. Zero Archives will likely generate more questions than answers, and that's the point.

Space exploration is inevitable because it is our nature to be curious. Zero Archives aims to be part of that fun while holding us accountable for our impact on Earth and our responsibility to take care of her.

Reminder:

Let's design for space responsibly, without forgetting where we come from.
